Esol Teacher Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate

Application

I applied online.   The process took 3 months.   I interviewed at Brooklyn Public Library in Sep 2018

Interview

I applied online on August 20th and got an email back about an interview on September 10th. The original date we agreed on was September 14th, but they didn't mention it over email, and the app they wanted me to use was sending me different times because of a time zone complication. We rescheduled for September 18th. The interview seemed to go well and they said that they would get back to me by the end of the next week about the job. They didn't do that, and I emailed them back asking about the job. They said to give them another week, and they still didn't email me back. Now it's the first week of October, and they have stopped responding. I think if the company did want to hire me, they're probably going to lose me because I need to move on at this point since I'm not getting paid to wait them out. If they didn't want to hire me, they should have given me a courtesy email instead of continuing to let me think I should wait for their response.

Interview

I received a phone call from an assistant to my would-be manager. An interview date was set up over the phone, which was within a couple of weeks. I met my potential manager and his/her direct supervisor right there on the site which I would be working. They interviewed me at the same time; it lasted about half an hour and felt like a regular conversation.

Interview Questions

  • I cannot think of any. There were no weird, awkward, or irrelevant questions. It was a regular interview where they asked about my skills and why I was interested in the job. It was one of the simplest interviews I've ever had. And it only took one for them to determine if I was going to be hired or not.
